1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags and software development kits. “First-party” technologies are set by the website you visit; “third-party” technologies are set by another domain. Session cookies expire when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them.
2. What we use today
The Site is a static website. We do not use analytics, advertising, social media or other tracking cookies, and we do not use tracking pixels. The Site itself sets no cookies. It keeps two small items in your browser's local storage: your consent choice, which is strictly necessary, and, only if you allow the Preferences category, the details you give RIOSBOT (see what we store on your device).
Our hosting and content delivery providers may set strictly necessary cookies that are needed to deliver the Site securely, for example to balance traffic and to protect the Site against attacks and abuse. These cookies do not identify you for marketing purposes, and the law does not require consent for them.

3. What we store on your device
The Site keeps at most the following items in your browser's local storage for riftion.com. Nothing else is stored.

We do not store your chat messages anywhere. If we ever add another item, we will list it here and in the preferences panel, change the policy version and ask for your choice again.
4. Your choice, and how to change it
When you first visit, a consent bar appears at the bottom of the page. It does not block the Site, and rejecting is as easy as accepting. Nothing optional is switched on before you choose.
- Accept all: allows every optional category the Site uses, which today is Preferences.
- Reject all: only strictly necessary technologies are used. We keep your “no” for 6 months so the bar doesn't ask again on every visit. The Site works fully without consent; RIOSBOT simply asks for your name and email each time.
- Manage preferences: opens the Privacy preferences panel. It lists every category (strictly necessary, preferences, analytics and marketing), says which ones the Site actually uses, shows each stored item, its purpose and how long it lasts, and lets you switch Preferences on or off and save your choice.
- Change or withdraw at any time: choose Cookie Settings in the footer of any page, or the small cookie button in the bottom-left corner, to open the same panel. It shows your current choice and when you made it. If you switch Preferences off or reject all, the RIOSBOT details listed above are deleted from your device straight away.
- You can also delete the items yourself by clearing this Site's data in your browser settings.
5. Where this data is kept
On your device only. The items above live in your own browser's local storage for riftion.com. They are not sent to our servers with your page requests, other websites cannot read them, and we cannot see them. They stay on the device and in the browser where you accepted.
Not cookies on our servers. The Site is hosted by Hostinger. As any web host does, its servers keep technical access logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and operation; these are described in our Privacy Policy and do not depend on this consent. RIOSBOT answers inside your browser: your name, email and messages are not sent to our servers (see RIOSBOT in the Privacy Policy).
No third parties. Our fonts and images are served from our own domain, and no advertising, analytics or social media provider can read or set data through the Site.
6. If this changes
Before we introduce any cookie or similar technology that is not strictly necessary, we will update this Policy, add it to the Privacy preferences panel switched off, and, where required, ask for your consent again. In particular:
- EU and EEA: non-essential technologies are used only with prior opt-in consent, as required by Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, national implementing laws and the GDPR.
- United Kingdom: we follow the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. Certain first-party analytics used only to improve the Site may be used without consent if you get clear information and a simple, free way to object; all other non-essential technologies need consent.
- Türkiye: we follow KVKK and the Personal Data Protection Authority's Guidelines on Cookie Applications, which require explicit consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary.
- United States: where state laws give you the right to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale or sharing of personal information, we will provide an opt-out and honour Global Privacy Control signals.
- Other countries: we apply the consent and notice requirements of local law, for example Brazil's LGPD, Canada's PIPEDA and Québec's Law 25, and comparable laws in the Middle East, Russia and Asia.
7. How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the Site works. Browser help pages:
You can also turn on Global Privacy Control in browsers and extensions that support it. We treat it as a valid opt-out where the law recognises it.
8. Changes to this Policy
We will post any change to this Policy on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Where a change requires your consent, we will ask for it before the new technology is used.
